On June 13, Hanwha Investment & Securities stated that it expects Samsung SDS's second-quarter results this year to meet market expectations.
The company estimated that Samsung SDS will post sales of 3.5 trillion won and operating profit of 230.9 billion won in the second quarter of this year. These figures represent increases of 4.0% and 4.5%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
Kim So-hye, a researcher at Hanwha Investment & Securities, explained, "Government policy direction is favorable," and added, "There is a high possibility of expansion in public sector projects." She continued, "This year, the visibility for expanding external business is high. Currently, external sales account for 18% of total IT service sales, and the company is securing references and acquiring large clients, mainly in the financial and public sectors."
Kim also analyzed, "Public projects based on new technologies such as generative AI are positive not only for revenue growth but also for profitability," and noted, "Demand for cloud data center servers is increasing." She further emphasized, "We expect GPU utilization rates and cloud network-related sales to rise. As we move into the second half of the year, the utilization rate of the Dongtan data center will increase, and related sales are expected to grow by 16.8% year-on-year."
