Bonghwa County Action Group "From Now On Insects" Gains Attention at Gyeongbuk Agricultural and Food Expo

On-Site Contracts Achieved with Insect Protein-Based Pet Food

The action group "From Now On Insects," part of the Bonghwa County New Vitality Plus Project Promotion Team in Gyeongbuk, drew attention by participating as a regional representative in the "2025 Gyeongbuk Agricultural and Food Expo."

The event was held at Daegu EXCO from June 5 to June 7, featuring 189 food companies and 35 related organizations from Gyeongbuk. It attracted approximately 50,000 visitors, making it a great success.


"From Now On Insects" is an action group fostered by the promotion team as part of the Bonghwa County New Vitality Plus Project. The group set up a booth focused on pet food for companion animals and functional foods utilizing insect protein.


The group received enthusiastic responses from both visitors and buyers at the expo, successfully concluding a total of four contracts and receiving two proposals for distribution collaboration on-site.


Kim Jeil, head of the Bonghwa County New Vitality Plus Project Promotion Team, stated, "With the domestic pet food market growing rapidly, pet feed and functional products based on insect protein possess differentiated competitiveness," adding, "This expo served as an opportunity to confirm the potential of the Bonghwa County New Vitality Plus Project."


During the expo, key officials from Bonghwa County and guests from Gyeongsangbuk-do also visited the "From Now On Insects" booth, offering encouragement and engaging in active communication with those on-site.


Bonghwa County Mayor Park Hyunkook said, "I hope the proactive activities of the action group will serve as a catalyst for the Bonghwa County New Vitality Plus Project," and added, "We will continue to provide unwavering support for the sustainable growth of the local economy and the agri-food industry."


Bonghwa County plans to further enhance the sophistication of the action group's products and strengthen market expansion based on the achievements of this expo.
