Six water playgrounds will be open at Topyeong Park, Donggu Sky Park, Inchang Areummaeul Park, Galmae Central Park, Hangang Citizen's Park, and Wangsucheon Riverside Park. Ground fountains will operate at five locations: Galmae Central Park, Guri Square, Jangja Lake Park, Imunan Lake Park, and Galmae Central Park.
These facilities will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day except Mondays and rainy days, until August 24. For the convenience of visitors, amenities such as sunshades and temporary changing rooms will be installed. Safety personnel will be assigned to each water playground to prevent accidents.
To maintain clean and safe water quality in the water playgrounds, Guri City will replace the water once a day and clean the water tanks on days when the facilities are closed. The city will also conduct regular water quality inspections to comply with the water quality standards for water play facilities (free residual chlorine 0.4?4.0 mg/L) under Article 89-2 of the Enforcement Rule of the Water Environment Conservation Act, ensuring that citizens can use the facilities with peace of mind.
Meanwhile, a new water playground is being installed under the Godeok-Topyeong Bridge at Hangang Citizen's Park. Once construction is completed and the facility is handed over from Korea Expressway Corporation, it is scheduled to open in July.
Baek Kyunghyun, Mayor of Guri City, stated, "We will thoroughly manage the water playgrounds and ground fountains so that citizens, weary from ongoing climate change and the summer heat, can visit the parks and enjoy a cool and pleasant summer."
