Paldo "Ppuyosoda" Surpasses 25 Million Units in Cumulative Sales

Children's Carbonated Drink First Launched in 1998
Relaunched in 2021 to Match the Newtro Trend

Paldo, a comprehensive food company, announced on June 12 that its children's beverage "Ppuyosoda" has surpassed a cumulative sales volume of 25 million units.


"Ppuyosoda" is a carbonated drink for children that was first introduced in 1998. It gained popularity as the first product in the industry to feature a small 245ml PET bottle that children could easily hold and drink from with one hand. In line with the newtro trend, it was relaunched in 2021.

The product combines the refreshing sensation of carbonation with a tangy fruit flavor, making it enjoyable for children to drink. Its sugar content and calories have been reduced to allow for sales in Green Food Zones, so parents can feel assured when enjoying it with their children.


The packaging now features the virtual influencer "Mellowbin." The four curious characters and their diverse storylines are said to match well with the lively image of the carbonated beverage. Paldo plans to strengthen its market position by increasing familiarity among its target age group through the new design.


Paldo is also holding a customer participation event. By leaving a comment on Paldo's official SNS account, participants have a chance to win Mellowbin merchandise through a drawing.
