AI Data Platform Company Launches Urban Parking Project in Collaboration with Local Authorities

Ditonic, a company specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) data platforms, announced on June 12 that it has entered the Malaysian smart city market with its proprietary solutions.

Ditonic recently held a kickoff event for the "Edge AI and Data Hub-Based Smart Parking Service Demonstration Project for Solving Urban Parking Problems" at the InterContinental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, in collaboration with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Kuala Lumpur City.

Through this project, Ditonic will provide real-time parking information and parking availability prediction services in Kuala Lumpur, where parking shortages have become severe due to high urban population density and an increase in tourists. To achieve this, Ditonic plans to apply edge computing-based analytics technology that analyzes video data, including existing CCTV footage, on-site, as well as data hub construction technology.

Ditonic has carried out AI data hub construction projects for smart cities in dozens of local governments in Korea, and has recently participated in the development of smart green industrial complexes. Internationally, the company has been involved in various AI-based smart city projects, including the "Smart Integrated Control System Construction" in Hue, Vietnam, and the "ICT-Based Integrated Air Quality Management System" in Mongolia. Most recently, Ditonic successfully completed a smart parking demonstration project based on a smart city data hub in Santander, Spain.

Jeon Yongju, CEO of Ditonic, stated, "In addition to Malaysia, many Southeast Asian countries are showing great interest in transitioning to smart cities," adding, "Ditonic will leverage its AI infrastructure, data platform technology, and accumulated service experience in smart cities to expand the territory of K-AI."
