Iranian Defense Minister Warns "All U.S. Bases in Middle East Will Be Attacked if Nuclear Talks Fail"

Aziz Nasirzadeh, Iran's Minister of Defense, warned on June 11 (local time) that if negotiations with the United States over the nuclear issue break down and conflict erupts, Iran is capable of attacking all U.S. military bases in the Middle East.

According to Iranian media outlets such as IRNA and Mehr News Agency, Minister Nasirzadeh told reporters that day, "If negotiations are not concluded and conflict is imposed on us, the damage to the other side will be far greater than ours, and the United States will have to leave this region."

Minister Nasirzadeh emphasized, "All U.S. bases in the region are within our range," and added, "We will not hesitate to attack all bases." He also mentioned, "Last week, we successfully tested a missile equipped with a 2-ton warhead."

Since April, the United States and Iran have held five rounds of nuclear negotiations mediated by Oman. On May 31, the United States officially presented its first negotiation proposal to Iran. Although the details of the proposal have not been disclosed, whether Iran will be allowed to enrich uranium remains the main point of contention.

On June 9, U.S. President Donald Trump stated, "Iran seeks uranium enrichment, but they cannot do that."

In contrast, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei reaffirmed on June 4 that Iran would not give up enrichment, saying, "The United States talks nonsense about Iran not being allowed to have a nuclear industry, but they can do nothing."

The sixth round of nuclear negotiations between the United States and Iran is expected to be held soon. The United States has announced that the sixth round will take place on June 12, while Iran has stated it will be held on June 15.
