According to the police on June 11, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency assigned the case to its anti-corruption investigation unit the previous day.

Following the filing of the complaint, the police plan to book former Chief Chung and others as suspects and proceed with the investigation.

Previously, on June 7, the civic group National Alliance for the Eradication of Deep-rooted Evils filed a complaint with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency against former Chief of Staff Chung and former Secretary for General Affairs Yoon Jaesoon, accusing them of abuse of authority, obstruction of the exercise of rights by fraudulent or coercive means, obstruction of official duties, and damage to public property.

The National Alliance for the Eradication of Deep-rooted Evils claimed that these individuals deliberately avoided the transfer of duties at the presidential office and illegally ordered the destruction of computers, printers, other electronic equipment, office supplies, and documents, thereby interfering with the normal operations of the new administration.

The Yoon Suk Yeol administration, however, maintains that all actions regarding the maintenance of computers and related equipment were carried out in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
