Governor Kim Youngrok Paves the Way for ASEAN Expansion with Sales Diplomacy in Cambodia Kim Youngrok Jeonnam Governor

Kim Youngrok, Governor of Jeonnam Province, departed on June 11 for a three-day visit to Cambodia to pioneer new ASEAN markets and strengthen global partnerships.

As his first official event during the visit, Governor Kim will attend the '19th General Assembly of the Federation of Korean Associations in Asia & Federation of Korean Entrepreneurs in Asia,' where leaders of Korean associations and businesspeople from across Asia will gather. He plans to propose ways to foster cooperation within the Asian Korean community and call for solidarity to strengthen the global network.

He will also meet with Khuong Sreng, Mayor of Phnom Penh, to discuss practical measures to promote exchanges and cooperation between the two regions in various fields, including tourism, culture, and the economy. Phnom Penh, as the capital and largest city of Cambodia, has high expectations for exchanges with Jeonnam Province.

Through a meeting for healthcare exchange and cooperation among Jeonnam Province, the Jeonnam Medical Association, and the Cambodian Medical Association, efforts will be made to lay the foundation for public healthcare technology collaboration and personnel exchange.

There will also be an event to promote the tastes of Jeonnam. At AEON Mall, the largest shopping mall in Cambodia, the 'Jeonnam K-Food Promotion Fair' will be held to introduce agricultural, fisheries, and processed food products, as well as to cook and interact directly with local consumers.

Governor Kim emphasized, "ASEAN, including Cambodia, is experiencing rapid growth in its consumer market, driven by the expanding middle class," and added, "We will continue to create business opportunities for the future growth of the region by expanding ongoing exchanges and cooperation."
