The Urban Transportation Committee of the Namyangju City Council in Gyeonggi Province, chaired by Kyungwon Park, reviewed and approved as originally proposed a total of five council-initiated ordinance bills, including a partial amendment to the Namyangju City Parking Lot Free Opening Support Ordinance, at the 312th 1st regular session held on June 11.

Assemblywoman Youngsil Kim, as the lead proposer, introduced the partial amendment to the Namyangju City Parking Lot Free Opening Support Ordinance, aiming to operate the parking lot free opening support project more efficiently by adjusting the opening hours and the subsidy support limit. She also sought to enhance parking convenience for citizens by expanding practical support.

The partial amendment to the Namyangju City Urban and Residential Environment Improvement Ordinance, led by Chairman Kyungwon Park, was designed to invigorate redevelopment projects and strengthen transparency to protect the rights and interests of association members. The amendment streamlines administrative procedures by stipulating that agreement to request or propose an improvement plan will be regarded as consent for the formation of a promotion committee and the establishment of an association.
Assemblyman Sangsoo Kim, as the lead proposer, introduced the partial amendment to the Namyangju City Healing Agriculture Promotion and Support Ordinance. The amendment newly establishes provisions regarding the establishment, composition, and operation of the Healing Agriculture Council, as well as rules for exclusion, challenge, and recusal of members and matters related to meeting attendance. The goal is to provide an institutional foundation so that Namyangju City can systematically and sustainably foster and support healing agriculture, thereby contributing to the sustainable growth of agriculture and rural areas.
Assemblywoman Sureun Lee, in response to the recent increase in households raising companion animals and the growing number of civil complaints in public spaces, which have led to more cases of conflict among citizens, proposed the partial amendment to the Namyangju City Animal Welfare and Support for Damage Caused by Abandoned Animals Ordinance. The amendment aims to prevent such cases and improve the welfare of companion animals and their owners. It establishes a definition for companion animal playgrounds and provides the legal basis for their installation.
Assemblyman Jihoon Kim (Min), as the lead proposer, introduced the Namyangju City Ordinance on the Prevention of Animal Road Accidents. With animal road accidents on public roads emerging as a social issue that threatens the safety of both drivers and pedestrians, the ordinance seeks to create a safer road environment, promote the protection of wildlife, and ensure driver safety. It includes measures and projects aimed at reducing and preventing animal road accidents.
Meanwhile, the City Council will make the final decision on the items reviewed today at the 2nd plenary session scheduled for June 19.
