Graffiti Defaming Singer BoA Found Across Seoul... SM Says "Police Investigation Underway" Singer BoA. SM Entertainment

The police have launched an investigation after graffiti defaming singer BoA (real name Kwon BoA) was discovered in various locations throughout Seoul.

According to SM Entertainment on June 11, graffiti targeting BoA was recently found in several places, including a bus stop near Gangnam Station and on electronic billboard pillars in Seoul.

Recently, a post appeared on an online community stating, "There is vulgar graffiti targeting BoA written in numerous places around Gangnam, such as bus stops, transformers, and electronic billboard pillars," along with accompanying photos. After seeing this, some fans voluntarily began a 'graffiti removal' campaign, sharing the locations of the graffiti with each other.

SM identified the situation through its own monitoring and reports from fans, then directly confirmed the sites and reported the matter to the police. SM stated, "The investigation is currently underway at the local police station," and added, "We plan to submit an official complaint additionally within today."

They further emphasized, "Spreading false information or committing acts that defame or insult the artist are clear crimes," and stated, "Our company will respond firmly to such crimes without leniency."
