The Chungnam Provincial Council announced on June 11 that it held an "Anti-Corruption and Integrity Education" session for all council members and affiliated public officials in the council meeting room on the afternoon of June 10, with the goal of fostering legislative activities that earn the trust of Chungnam residents.
This anti-corruption and integrity education was conducted to prevent institutional corruption in advance and to enhance integrity and ethical awareness, thereby establishing a trustworthy legislative body.
In particular, the program was linked with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's "Visiting Integrity Workshop" and featured case-based special lectures on the Code of Conduct for Public Officials, the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act, and the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act.
Hong Sunghyun, Chairperson of the Chungnam Provincial Council (Cheonan 1, People Power Party), stated, "This education was a meaningful opportunity to re-examine the standards of integrity and to reflect on ourselves. Going forward, all public officials of the Chungnam Provincial Council will continue to carry out their duties in accordance with the standards and principles of the code of conduct, united in purpose and action."
Meanwhile, the Chungnam Provincial Council conducts integrity education for all staff every year and plans to implement a variety of policies to ensure that a culture of practicing integrity takes root within the organization.
