"Even with High Salaries, MZ Generation Avoids These Companies"

Survey Reveals Top Reason for Avoiding Companies:
"Company with Immoral Executives" Ranks First
"Work-Life Balance" Chosen as the Most Important Value

MZ generation (Millennials and Generation Z) employees consider 'morality' and 'fairness' as core values when choosing a workplace. This means that no matter how high the salary is, it is difficult to win their loyalty in environments where immoral organizational culture or unfair decision-making is prevalent.

According to a survey released by JobKorea Content LAB on June 11, out of 1,252 employees in their 20s to 40s who were asked about 'companies they do not want to work for even with high salaries,' 34.5% of all respondents answered that they would find it difficult to consider moving to or joining a company with immoral managers or executives, regardless of the salary offered.

This response was higher among employees in their 20s (36.4%) and 30s (34.5%) than those in their 40s and older (30.8%). This indicates that the MZ generation regards morality and fairness within the organization as major criteria when choosing a company.

The next most common response was 'a company whose management style and values do not match my own' (33.9%). Other reasons cited for considering leaving a company included an unfair compensation system (30.6%), directionless work instructions (25.6%), and a lethargic workplace atmosphere (15.4%).

When asked about 'values pursued in the workplace,' the most common answer across all generations was 'work-life balance,' at 50.3%. In particular, more than half of respondents in their 20s and 30s said they prioritize work-life balance above all else. This suggests that MZ generation employees strongly view the workplace not only as a means of livelihood, but also as a space where their values and life direction can be harmonized.

Byun Jisung, head of content marketing at JobKorea, stated, "We are now in an era where it is important to consider who you work with, what kind of atmosphere you work in, and what values you share. As more employees are considering not just the company's reputation and benefits, but also its values, direction, and their own growth potential, companies must engage in deeper reflection regarding HR and organizational culture in order to secure a competitive edge in attracting talent."
