This regular June automobile tax is levied on vehicle owners as of June 1, based on the period during which they owned their vehicles from January 1 to June 30, 2025. For compact cars and trucks with an annual tax amount of 100,000 won or less, the full amount is imposed in June. Vehicles for which the annual tax was prepaid in January or March are excluded.

The vehicles subject to taxation include passenger cars, vans, trucks, construction machinery (such as dump trucks and concrete mixers), special vehicles, and motorcycles with an engine displacement exceeding 125cc. Taxpayers can pay the automobile tax using various payment methods.

With the newly launched next-generation local tax payment system ARS this year, credit card payments are now possible. Payment can also be made at all financial institutions and bank CD/ATM machines nationwide, via virtual account transfer, Wetax, Giro, and other methods.

The payment period is from the 16th to the 30th of this month. For those who have applied for automatic transfer, the amount will be withdrawn automatically, so it is necessary to check the account balance in advance. If the payment deadline is missed, a 3% late payment penalty will be imposed, and disadvantages such as seizure registration may occur.

The county will organize a tax payment promotion team until the payment deadline to handle and process any difficulties or suggestions related to the automobile tax. For inquiries regarding automobile tax, detailed guidance can be obtained by contacting the Finance Division at the county office or the finance departments of each town and township office.
