Field Meeting with Promising Companies
Strengthening 'Business-Oriented' Support
On June 11, Jeonnam Province held a meeting with representatives of promising advanced industry companies at the Jeonnam Technopark ICT Robot Convergence Center in Jangseong. During the meeting, the province explained its business support programs and the 333 Project for supporting venture startups, and listened to on-site feedback.
The meeting was held to directly hear from the field and reflect these voices in policy, with the aim of enhancing policy responsiveness to changes in the industrial environment and supporting the scale-up and value-up of venture startups and small and medium-sized enterprises.
In particular, this was the first event held since the Laser Industry Center was expanded and reorganized into the ICT Robot Convergence Center. The event was organized to expand the ICT and robotics industry ecosystem in Jangseong and neighboring areas, and to strengthen support for companies.
More than 20 representatives from promising companies attended the meeting, including Jeonnam Technopark, AB Medical Co., Ltd., GR Chem Co., Ltd., JNT Co., Ltd., Chahu S&P Co., Ltd., Hyunjin Enterprise Co., Ltd., Chamdeun Health Science Agricultural Corporation, World Costec Co., Ltd., Haeoreum Drone Aviation Co., Ltd., Cheonyeon Story Co., Ltd., Seomseom Bio Co., Ltd., and Forbidream Co., Ltd.
The attending companies made several suggestions, including: expanding education and consulting for recent digital transformation (DX) and artificial intelligence transformation (AX); attracting drone inspection centers; promoting advanced industry demonstration projects; supporting overseas market entry and worker settlement; and expanding customized support policies for companies.
After the meeting, Jeonnam Province also visited AB Medical Co., Ltd., a bio-health company in Jangseong, to tour the production site and encourage the staff on site.
AB Medical is a leading regional small but strong company that, with comprehensive support from Jeonnam Province for prototype production, certification, and overseas marketing, exports its products to more than 10 countries including Brazil, Mexico, and Peru.
Soh Youngho, Director General of Strategic Industries for Jeonnam Province, stated, "Support policies are only effective when they are truly felt by the residents." He added, "We will actively reflect the suggestions made at the meeting in our policies and projects, or propose them to central government agencies, in order to expand the industrial foundation that energizes the region and make Jeonnam a better place for companies to do business."
