Haman County in South Gyeongsang Province announced that County Governor Cho Geunje will attend the opening ceremony of the '2025 World National Heritage Industry Expo' as the president of the Gaya Cultural Area Regional Development Mayors and Governors Council. The ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on June 12 at the Gyeongju HICO Convention Center.
The '2025 World National Heritage Industry Expo' will take place from June 12 to June 14, co-hosted by the National Heritage Administration, North Gyeongsang Province, and Gyeongju City. It is the only domestic expo dedicated to the national heritage industry and related job opportunities, offering a comprehensive look at the present and future of both domestic and international national heritage industries.
This event will feature a variety of exhibitions encompassing the current state and future of the national heritage industry, including national heritage, advanced technology, and research and development (R&D) sectors.
Governor Cho Geunje has been officially invited to the opening ceremony as president of the Gaya Cultural Area Mayors and Governors Council and will participate directly in the ceremony alongside 13 other key figures.
During the expo, Haman County will operate an exhibition booth to promote the Marisan Tumuli, a UNESCO World Heritage site, as well as its policies. The booth will also provide information about the Haman Museum and Nakhwa-nori, distribute policy brochures, and utilize video materials to enhance visitors' understanding.
In particular, Haman County plans to promote its historical and cultural heritage by screening a video related to the designation of the Ancient Capital of Aragaya, and to communicate the value of national heritage centered on the Marisan Tumuli.
Governor Cho Geunje stated, "This expo is a meaningful event to introduce the Marisan Tumuli, one of the Gaya Tumuli World Heritage sites, to the global stage. We will do our utmost to ensure that Gaya cultural heritage, which holds universal value, can drive sustainable growth in connection with the tourism industry."
