The minimum lot size for the Gwangmyeong Siheung General Industrial Complex and the Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex has been reduced from 1,200 square meters to 900 square meters, raising expectations for the stable settlement of small and medium-sized enterprises wishing to relocate to the industrial complexes.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Government announced on the 11th that the amendment to the Gwangmyeong Siheung Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex plan (increasing from 16 lots to 21 lots) and the amendment to the General Industrial Complex plan (increasing from 259 lots to 319 lots) have each been conditionally approved.
With these amendments, the number of lots in each industrial complex will increase, and the minimum lot size per parcel will decrease, making it possible to provide customized industrial land suitable for the scale of each company.
The Gwangmyeong Siheung General Industrial Complex, covering 979,000 square meters in Gahak-dong, Gwangmyeong and Mujinae-dong, Siheung, is expected to support the stable relocation of companies within the special management area.
Additionally, the Gwangmyeong Siheung Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex, spanning 493,000 square meters in Gahak-dong, Gwangmyeong and Nongok-dong, Siheung, will establish itself as a key hub for advanced industries in the southwestern region of the Seoul metropolitan area by fostering new industries. Completion is targeted for 2026.
Lee Myungseon, Director of Land Development at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government, stated, "I am pleased that this amendment can contribute to the stable resettlement of relocating companies within the special management area," and added, "We will continue to listen to the voices of local residents and spare no administrative support as needed in the future."
