Theme: "Moonlight Companionship, Let's Visit Moyangseong, Starlight Night Tour"
Gochang County in North Jeolla Province announced on June 11 that it will hold the "2025 Gochang National Heritage Night Tour" on June 13 and 14 at Gochang Eupseong Fortress, Sin Jae-hyo's Old House, and the Ogori Dangsan area.
This night tour, returning to Gochang for the first time in five years, is themed "Moonlight Companionship, Let's Visit Moyangseong, Starlight Night Tour." It is expected to offer a vivid experience of Gochang's national heritage through a variety of nighttime cultural content, hands-on activities, and performances.
The Gochang National Heritage Night Tour is organized around the concept of "8 Nights." The "Yaseol (Night Story)" segment will open with "Ink Painting, Drawing the June Night," followed by a parade reenacting the Gochang Ogori Dangsan Festival called "Gilgut" and the "Dangsan Rope Wrapping." There will also be a "Dalmaji Orchestra" performance by local youth in a Korean traditional music style, and a traditional tightrope walking performance titled "Artist Walking the Milky Way," creating a stage where tradition and modernity intersect.
The "Yaro (Night Road)" segment includes the "Moyangseong Storyteller" program, where actors personally share stories of Gochang, an environmental tour called "Moyangseong Plogging" where participants pick up trash, a mini-game called "Beat the Peddler!", and a guided walk along the inner trail of Gochang Eupseong Fortress titled "Let's All Walk Once Around the Fortress," where participants can learn about the history of Gochang.
In the "Yagyeong (Night Scenery)" segment, various light-themed attractions will be featured, including a plaza in front of the Pansori Museum decorated with LED roses, a moon and rabbit, and an activity where visitors can hang their own wish lanterns. In addition, a variety of national heritage programs will illuminate the brilliant night of Gochang.
County Governor Shim Deokseop said, "This night tour is expected to be a special night festival where local residents and visitors can come together and enjoy Gochang's national heritage in a unique way," adding, "We will strive to make this event not just about preserving national heritage, but about creating a memorable night where Gochang's heritage shines even brighter than during the day."
