Applications Open for 'Grand Prize' and 'New Poet Award'
Damyang County in South Jeolla Province will begin accepting submissions for the '13th Songsun Literature Award' starting July 1, 2025. This contest is open to both established and emerging poets nationwide, and the submission period runs until July 31, 2025.
The contest features two categories: the 'Grand Prize' and the 'New Poet Award.' For the 'Grand Prize,' submissions are accepted for newly published poetry collections released between July 1, 2023, and June 30, 2025. For the 'New Poet Award,' poets preparing their first poetry collection may submit a manuscript equivalent to one collection (approximately 50 poems).
The Grand Prize winner will receive a prize of 20 million won, while the New Poet Award winner will receive 10 million won. The winners are scheduled to be announced in November 2025.
