Additional Applications Open Due to Shortfall in First Round
Yangsan City in South Gyeongsang Province will launch the second round of its 2025 Electric Vehicle Fire Prevention Support Project, aiming to prevent fires at electric vehicle charging facilities in multi-family housing and to create a safer residential environment.
This project targets multi-family housing complexes equipped with electric vehicle charging facilities, with the goal of supporting fire prevention safety equipment or facility improvements. The city will allocate a total annual project budget of 370 million won, providing subsidies covering up to 90% of project costs (up to 2.5 million won per complex) for 148 multi-family housing complexes within the city.
In particular, to minimize the financial burden on the housing complexes, the self-payment ratio has been set at 10%.
In the first round of applications, only a few complexes applied, resulting in a number of applications below the planned target. Therefore, to encourage more participation from multi-family housing complexes, the city will accept additional applications through this second announcement.
Eligible applicants are multi-family housing complexes with at least one electric vehicle charger installed. The support covers part of the installation costs for firefighting equipment or facilities such as fire suppression blankets, upward spray devices, protective equipment, automatic sprinklers, and heat-detecting CCTV. However, complexes that have already received subsidies for the same project are not eligible for support.
The application period runs from June 10 to July 31, 2025. For further details, applicants should refer to the announcement on the Yangsan City Hall website and submit the required documents in person to the Climate and Environment Division (5th floor of the main building).
Lee Dooyoung, head of the Climate and Environment Division, said, "Through this project, we hope to enhance the safety of electric vehicle charging facilities in multi-family housing, ensure the safety of our citizens, and contribute to the promotion of electric vehicle use. We ask for your interest and active participation."
