In this competition, six cities and counties that passed the preliminary round advanced to the finals and competed in a public evaluation. Hwaseong City presented its case titled "Regulatory Innovation for Both EV Charging and Fire Prevention!" and received the Excellence Award along with a prize of 10 million won.

The award-winning case included improvements that allowed the installation of electric vehicle charging facilities in parks with only an occupancy permit, without complicated procedures, by amending the Park and Green Space Act. It also covered the proposal made to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to strengthen electric vehicle battery safety features, which led to the establishment of new guidelines.

With this award, the city will participate in the "2025 Local Regulatory Innovation Best Practices Competition" hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, along with other cities and counties that advanced to the finals.

Hwaseong City Mayor Jung Myung-geun said, "This award is the result of our continuous efforts to improve regulations by listening to voices from the field," and added, "We will continue to pursue regulatory innovations closely related to daily life that bring tangible changes to citizens' lives."
