GS Engineering & Construction has begun strengthening its capabilities to participate in the bidding for Seongsu Strategic Zone 1 Redevelopment Project, focusing on differentiated design strategies.
On June 11, GS Engineering & Construction announced that it will collaborate with David Chipperfield Architects, the firm founded by world-renowned architect David Chipperfield, who is a recipient of the Pritzker Prize, often referred to as the “Nobel Prize of Architecture.”
Through this collaboration, GS Engineering & Construction plans to present a differentiated design aimed at making the Seongsu Strategic Zone 1 Redevelopment Project the premier landmark complex along the Han River. By working with its residential brand Xi and David Chipperfield Architects, the company intends to further strengthen its apartment design capabilities. GS Engineering & Construction aims to propose a future-oriented residential space for Seongsu Strategic Zone 1 that goes beyond simple housing to achieve architectural excellence and urban symbolism.
Previously, GS Engineering & Construction had formed a partnership for high-rise technology collaboration with Arup, a world-leading engineering company known for its comprehensive design of high-rise landmark buildings.
GS Engineering & Construction has secured core technologies essential for high-rise residential facilities, including structural, mechanical, and safety technologies. Through its collaboration with David Chipperfield Architects, the company has also acquired world-class design capabilities, completing its preparations to participate in Seongsu Strategic Zone 1 Redevelopment Project, which is set to shape the high-rise skyline along the Han River.
