Chungnam Province Completes Local Subsidy Fraud Prevention Training for Cities and Counties Seosan City Local Subsidy Consulting. / Chungnam Province

Chungnam Province announced that it concluded its city and county local subsidy consulting sessions on June 11 in Cheonan, which began on February 20 in Geumsan.


A total of 2,326 people participated in the consulting sessions, including 944 private subsidy project operators and 1,382 public officials in charge of subsidies, across all 15 cities and counties in the province.


The consulting focused on training for the Botemi(e) system, unresolved settlement and non-refund cases, audit case studies, and measures to prevent fraudulent receipt of subsidies.


Through Q&A sessions with participants, the province listened to the difficulties experienced in the field and submitted a total of 11 suggestions to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for system improvement, including 9 related to the Local Subsidy Act and system, and 2 regarding challenges in implementing subsidy projects.


Kang Seonggi, Director of Planning and Coordination for the province, said, "With the conclusion of the local subsidy consulting in Cheonan, we plan to conduct joint on-site inspections of around 220 local subsidy projects with cities and counties in the second half of the year to prevent fraudulent receipts and ensure systematic management of local subsidies. We will thoroughly manage the increasing number of local subsidy projects in cooperation with cities and counties to enhance the efficiency of fiscal operations."


Meanwhile, the local subsidy consulting sessions were conducted in collaboration with the Fraudulent Receipt Management Team of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Korea Local Information Research and Development Institute, and the Provincial Audit Committee.
