Activities Begin in August
Kia announced on June 11 that it is recruiting the 8th cohort of its university student supporter program, "Kia Creator," which expresses ideas related to future mobility through artistic inspiration.
Launched in 2018, Kia Creator is a university student communication program designed to promote mutual growth between Kia and university students.
The 8th Kia Creator program is open to any university student interested in future mobility and video production. From August to November, participants will engage in a variety of creative activities and brand experiences over approximately four months.
Applications can be submitted from June 11 to June 30 through the Kia Creator website. Final participants will be selected through a document screening and interview process. Successful applicants will choose one keyword?either "PBV (Purpose-Built Vehicle)" or "EV (Electric Vehicle)"?and complete a video production mission on the theme of "Kia's Future Mobility." Participants are free to express their ideas in various genres, such as film, advertising, documentary, or vlog.
Notably, this 8th cohort will newly encourage video production utilizing artificial intelligence (AI), and related guidelines will also be provided. The completed works will be showcased through both online and offline screenings.
To support the smooth execution of the supporters' missions, Kia will provide a range of resources, including video workshops with experts, close mentoring and feedback from professionals, and more. Each team will receive an activity grant of 1.8 million KRW for video production, and outstanding teams will be awarded a total of 6 million KRW in prize money.
The selected 8th cohort creators will receive professional mentoring from producer Yoon Kwonsu, who has worked as a producer on Netflix original variety shows such as "The Hungry and the Hairy" and "Physical: 100," as he will participate as the general director. Special brand experience opportunities, such as visits to Gwangju-Kia Champions Field and the HMG Driving Experience Center, will also be offered.
A Kia representative stated, "Through Kia Creator, we hope to share the value of innovation that Kia pursues from the creative perspectives proposed by university students," and added, "We look forward to many applications from university students interested in future mobility and video production."
