The campaign has been jointly organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Human Resources Development Institute for Health and Welfare since October last year, aiming to spread nationwide consensus on the social challenges caused by population decline and aging.
President Sung participated in the campaign after being nominated by Kim Jungkyum, President of Chungnam National University. He nominated Lee Daehee, CEO of Korea Venture Investment, as the next participant in the relay.
President Sung stated, "Population issues are not just about numbers, but are a critical challenge directly linked to the sustainability of our society. As an institution that fulfills national responsibilities, the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation will strive to create an environment where work and family can coexist, and will participate in building a society where children are happy and respected through coexistence with the local community."
