Samsung Electronics will launch its entry-level artificial intelligence (AI) phone, the Galaxy A36 5G, in Korea on June 12, 2025.
The Galaxy A36 5G will be available in three colors: Awesome Lavender, Awesome White, and Awesome Black. The price is set at 499,400 won. Customers can purchase the device at Samsung Stores nationwide, Samsung.com, online and offline stores of mobile carriers, and open markets.
For an optimal content viewing experience, the device features a large 170.1mm (6.7-inch) Super AMOLED display that supports up to a 120Hz refresh rate. With a maximum brightness of 1,200 nits, the screen remains clear and vivid even outdoors.
On the rear, the device is equipped with a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 5-megapixel macro camera. It also features OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and VDIS (Video Digital Image Stabilization) to ensure sharp image capture even in motion.
The device includes A Series-exclusive mobile AI, Awesome Intelligence, which provides various Galaxy AI features. With the 'AI Eraser' function, users can easily remove unwanted objects from photos, while the 'My Filter' feature allows users to apply a range of effects to their images.
The 'Circle to Search' feature enables users to draw a circle around any object on the screen to instantly receive search results. When users are curious about music playing on the screen, they can press and hold the home button and select the musical note icon to identify the song immediately. Additionally, by pressing the AI button on the right side, users can summon the AI agent and use natural voice commands to execute functions as if having a conversation.
The device is equipped with a large 5,000mAh battery. The vapor chamber, which is 15% larger than the previous model, effectively controls heat, ensuring a stable and comfortable user experience even during extended use. Durability has also been enhanced. Both the front and back are made with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+, providing resistance to external shocks and scratches. The device also supports IP67-rated water and dust resistance.
The Galaxy A36 5G comes with Knox Vault to protect sensitive data such as payment information and biometric authentication. It offers up to six years of security updates and up to six operating system (OS) upgrades. To celebrate the domestic launch of the Galaxy A36 5G, Samsung Electronics will provide a two-month free subscription to Willa for customers who purchase the device.
