Hamyang County in South Gyeongsang Province held the 'Founding General Meeting and Inauguration Ceremony of the Hamyang County Tourism Association' in the main conference room of the county office, officially marking a new beginning for public-private cooperation in the development of the Hamyang tourism industry.

The founding general meeting, held on June 10, was attended by approximately 35 members, including Kang Jae-du, head of the preparatory committee for the Hamyang County Tourism Association. The attendees adopted the statement of purpose for the association's establishment, reviewed the articles of association, and elected executive officers, among other key agenda items.

The statement of purpose adopted on this day outlines the functions and roles of the tourism association, which include forming a private-sector-led network to foster new perspectives on local culture and tourism resources, nurturing local tourism professionals, and pursuing the enhancement of added value in the tourism industry.

The event celebrated the official launch of the association and provided an opportunity to share its future vision.

Kang Jae-du, who was elected as the first president of the association on this day, expressed his aspirations, stating, "I will work together with the members to operate an association led by the people and supported and cooperated by the government, so that we can revitalize declining regions and truly contribute to the local economy."

Jin Byeong-yeong, Governor of Hamyang County, commented, "The launch of the tourism association is significant in that it goes beyond the limitations of government-led initiatives and establishes a tourism governance structure led by local residents. We will actively support the development of Hamyang-style tourism policies created jointly by the public and private sectors."

Meanwhile, the Hamyang County Tourism Association has completed procedures such as establishment approval, registration, and corporate reporting. With its official launch, the association plans to actively pursue projects centered on five committees, including planning and strategy.

Going forward, the association will play a key role in improving the region's tourism readiness, building a private-sector cooperation network, and carrying out tourism-related tasks commissioned by Hamyang County, all aimed at revitalizing local tourism.
