Fan Cafe Name to Be Changed Soon
The fan cafe "Geonsarang," which had served as the main fan cafe for former President Yoon Sukyeol and his wife, officially announced that it will end its support for the former presidential couple, which had continued for four years since the last presidential election, and will change its operational direction to become a community for the broader conservative camp. On June 9, Geonsarang posted a notice stating, "We are being reborn as a community centered on conservative unity."
The Geonsarang management stated, "We are making this announcement because of an important decision," and explained, "To minimize the loss of momentum caused by the impeachment of the former president and to contribute to the victory of the upcoming People Power Party convention and local elections, we will expand and change our operational direction from a fan cafe for the president and first lady to a community for the broader conservative camp."
The notice continued, "The defeat in the presidential election is merely a step back for two steps forward," and added, "Conservative supporters, do not be discouraged. We would appreciate it if you would gather in our newly reborn cafe." They also said, "We are accepting suggestions for the new name of the cafe," and encouraged both the management and regular members to participate actively. In response to the notice, some members expressed agreement, saying things like "I agree," and "It seems necessary," while others voiced differing opinions, such as "This cafe is meant to support and cheer for former President Yoon and Mrs. Kim," and "The opinions of the members should have been sought as well."

Currently, photos of the former presidential couple have been removed from Geonsarang, and instead, a photo of the Taegeukgi (the national flag of South Korea) combined with the Mugunghwa (the national flower) and a slogan reading "The newly reborn alliance of conservative right-wingers of the Free Republic of Korea" have been posted. Previously, phrases such as "Official fan cafe of Kim Gunhee" were displayed. Meanwhile, Geonsarang, which was established on December 19, 2021, as the official fan cafe for the former presidential couple, has the largest membership among fan clubs for Mrs. Kim in Korea, with about 80,000 members.
