According to diplomatic sources, Director General Grossi made this report at the IAEA Board of Governors meeting held in Vienna, Austria, and expressed deep regret over North Korea's nuclear development.

Japan and other countries plan to issue a joint statement expressing concern about North Korea's nuclear-related activities during this Board of Governors meeting.

Previously, North Korean media outlets such as the Korean Central News Agency reported in September last year and January this year that Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of North Korea, inspected nuclear material production facilities and a nuclear weapons research institute. They also unusually released photos of the interior of the facilities, but in both instances, the exact locations were not disclosed.
