Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dongyeon, in his closing remarks at the provincial open meeting on the 10th, stated, "My term starts anew every day," and added, "Although there is about one year left in my term as governor, this means that there is still much more to be accomplished than what has been done over the past three years."
Governor Kim then shared an anecdote from his time working at the Blue House during the Kim Youngsam (YS) administration.
He said, "When there were about two weeks left in the term, YS invited all Blue House staff to commend them for their hard work," and continued, "At that meeting, the then Chief Presidential Secretary said that even with only two weeks left in the term, it was still possible to change the world for the better if we started working now."
He particularly emphasized, "I was deeply impressed by the Chief Secretary's words at the time," and reiterated, "My term starts anew every day, and even with two weeks remaining, it is possible to change the world."

Meanwhile, in his opening remarks that day, Governor Kim said, "Gyeonggi Province will fully support the successful governance of the Lee Jaemyung administration as its number one partner, mobilizing all human, material, and policy resources."
After listing Gyeonggi Province's policies such as the 4.5-day workweek, climate economy, emergency economic and livelihood response, and future growth investment, Governor Kim added, "What we need now is not the 'persimmon tree strategy,' but the 'first penguin strategy.'"
The 'first penguin strategy' refers to the idea that, just as one penguin bravely jumps into the sea and others follow despite some risks, Gyeonggi Province should become a pioneer in taking on new challenges.
Governor Kim concluded by urging, "Since President Lee Jaemyung previously served as governor of Gyeonggi Province, do not wait for something to be handed down from the central government, but instead take the initiative to push forward policies boldly and swiftly."
