Complaint Filed for "Outdoor Advertising Violation"
Representative Lee Junseok of the Reform New Party has once again become embroiled in controversy after personally putting up a banner. Critics point out that he may have violated the current Outdoor Advertising Act by failing to comply with the required display methods. This is the second time Representative Lee has faced controversy over posting banners.

On the 10th, Representative Lee posted a photo on his Instagram, stating, "Today, for the first time in a while, I climbed a ladder to put up some banners. You will be able to see banners promoting party membership registration around the Yuljeon Campus of Sungkyunkwan University in Suwon." He added, "I am sorry I couldn't come during the election period. The culture of working relentlessly in politics is a consistent value of the Reform New Party," and continued, "If you are interested in joining the party, you can refer to the link in my Instagram profile."
In the photo, Representative Lee is seen wearing a helmet and climbing a ladder to hang a party banner near the Yuljeon Campus of Sungkyunkwan University in Jangan-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi Province. The banner reads, "Sungkyunkwan University's bold challenge can be applied to politics as well."
However, as the banner posted by Representative Lee omitted required information other than the party name, a post was made on the National Petition Portal requesting a fine for the posting of Lee's banner. The complainant, identified as Mr. A, claimed, "None of the legally required information that must be indicated on outdoor advertisements was included, and the standard of installing no more than two banners per neighborhood was also not observed," asserting that the Outdoor Advertising Act had been violated.

According to Article 35-2 (Exemption from Application) of the Enforcement Decree of the Act on the Management of Outdoor Advertisements and Promotion of Outdoor Advertising Industry (Outdoor Advertising Act Enforcement Decree), outdoor advertisements must display the party name, contact information, the installer’s contact information, and the start and end dates of the display period.
Previously, Representative Lee was caught violating the Outdoor Advertising Act and had to personally remove a banner he had installed. In June of last year, he posted a video on his YouTube channel showing himself putting up a banner reading, "Hwaseong Dongtan is the optimal location for the new science high school in southern Gyeonggi," but was reported for an incorrect date and ultimately took the banner down.
Meanwhile, Representative Lee is facing criticism for making inappropriate remarks about women's bodies. According to the National Assembly's public petition website on this day, more than 490,000 people have agreed to a petition calling for his expulsion. This is the second highest level of participation in the history of electronic petitions to the National Assembly.
