Gyeonggi Province Holds Leadership Training for Public Library Directors in Yangpyeong on June 9

Gyeonggi Province held leadership training for directors of public libraries from 31 cities and counties in the province.


On June 9, Gyeonggi Province announced that it conducted the "Gyeonggi Province Library Directors Leadership Training" at Bloomvista in Yangpyeong. The training aimed to strengthen the cooperative system among public libraries in the province and enhance the leadership capabilities of library directors.


The training was organized to reinforce the role of Gyeonggi Provincial Library as the representative library ahead of its opening in October, and to foster library leadership that can respond to digital transformation and changes in organizational culture.

During the training, Professor Lee Chan of Seoul National University gave a lecture on "Convertible Leadership Leading Organizations in the DX Era," focusing on organizational management strategies in response to changes in the digital environment. Professor Lee Yuna of the Korea Management Association then presented "Coaching Leadership for Library Directors in the AI Era," providing direction and practical methods for leadership.


Gyeonggi Province also discussed key policies, including operational challenges and revitalization strategies for public and small libraries. The 31 library directors from cities and counties in the province participated in group discussions, sharing local issues and exploring ways to collaborate based on best practices in library operations.


Park Minkyeong, Director of Library Policy at Gyeonggi Province, said, "We will continue to strengthen the collaborative system among public libraries in the province, centered on the representative Gyeonggi Provincial Library," adding, "We also plan to continuously operate programs to enhance the expertise of working librarians, including leadership training."
