Youngjin College (President Choi Jaeyoung) announced on June 10 that it has restructured its academic system for the 2026 academic year and adjusted the admission quotas for certain departments and majors in order to respond to future industry demands and enhance educational competitiveness.
This quota adjustment was carried out to strengthen the training of core personnel in emerging industries such as digital new technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and security. It also involved abolishing or integrating certain majors to better meet the diverse educational demands in practical social fields.
Among the previously subdivided departments (majors), the Game Metaverse, IT Cloud Security, and Japan IT departments were integrated?excluding the AI Software department?and reorganized into the AI Game Metaverse and AI Global IT departments. As a result, the quota for this division was adjusted from 181 to 122 students, and the names of the departments (majors) were changed to be clearer and more industry-friendly.
A new AI Computer Security division was established, consisting of four departments (majors): IT Online Entrepreneurship, AI Computer Security, Global Network, and Global OA. This marks an expansion from a curriculum focused on digital entrepreneurship, such as smart stores and YouTube marketing, to one centered on training professionals in security and IT networks. The admission quota was also significantly increased from 75 to 134 students.
The college also established a Sports Management department to provide systematic and professional instruction in pickleball, as well as education in exercise physiology, sports psychology, physical education assessment, sports marketing, sports media, and financial asset management. This aims to cultivate sports leaders and management experts equipped with sports management capabilities, thereby expanding career diversity in the management field.
The name of the Semiconductor Electronics division’s Future Automotive Electronics department was changed to Future Mobility, and the curriculum was revised to focus on future automotive technologies such as eco-friendly and autonomous driving. The Hotel Aviation Tourism department consolidated its three existing majors into two?Hotel Aviation and Global Tourism?to enhance the focus and specialization of its curriculum. The Art Media division’s Broadcasting and Video Media department increased its quota by five students, bringing the total to 35, to further strengthen the training of practical media content production professionals.
With these adjustments, the total admission quota for Youngjin College for the 2026 academic year has increased by 36, from 2,414 to 2,450 students.
The college stated, "This adjustment of quotas and restructuring of departments is intended to proactively respond to the era of the digital industrial revolution, including artificial intelligence, and to strengthen education focused on practical skills to meet the diverse career paths of students. We will further enhance the flexibility and field relevance of our education to more effectively support students in designing their careers."
Meanwhile, Youngjin College recorded a high employment rate in the "2023 Higher Education Employment Statistics Survey" announced by the Ministry of Education this year, and ranked first nationwide in overseas employment among all two-year and four-year universities in Korea.
