'Pocheon City Population Policy Grand Debate' to Be Held on July 4

Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Younghyeon) announced on the 10th that it will hold the "8th Civilian Pocheon City Population Policy Grand Debate" on July 4 to mark the third anniversary of the 8th civilian administration. The event aims to share the achievements of population policy initiatives with citizens and to identify effective new population policies.

The debate, scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Pocheon Business Center Convention Hall, will be held under the theme "Pocheon Where You Want to Stay, Creating the Future Together." It is expected to serve as an open forum for citizen-led discussion.
Citizens will be divided into groups according to life stages and will discuss population issues they experience in their daily lives, directly participating in policy proposals as well. The event is expected to not only identify effective population policies but also provide an opportunity for communication and cooperation with citizens to envision a sustainable future for Pocheon City.
Pocheon City will recruit a total of 160 citizen participants. Recruitment will be divided into five groups based on life stages: pregnancy·childbirth·childrearing, adolescence, young adulthood, middle and old age, and foreigners·multicultural families.
Each group will engage in in-depth discussions centered on key topics relevant to their stage, and the collected opinions will be actively reflected in the formulation of future population policies.
Citizens wishing to participate can download the application form from the Pocheon City Hall website under the notices section and submit it via email by the 20th.
Online applications using an information code (QR code) are also available. Selected participants will be individually notified after the 25th.
A Pocheon City official stated, "This debate is another opportunity to reflect citizens' voices in population policy and change the future of Pocheon," adding, "We look forward to the active participation of interested citizens."
