The Chungnam Provincial Council announced on June 9 that it has published the "2024 Fiscal Year Financial Settlement Analysis Report" to efficiently support council members' financial settlement review activities during the 359th regular session.
According to the council's financial settlement analysis report, Chungnam Provincial Government recorded revenue of 10.7818 trillion won and expenditures of 10.5111 trillion won for the 2024 fiscal year, resulting in a net world surplus of 2.8 billion won. The Chungnam Provincial Office of Education reported revenue of 5.1844 trillion won and expenditures of 5.0185 trillion won for the 2024 fiscal year, with a net world surplus of 43.7 billion won.
Through the publication of this analysis report, the council reviewed the effectiveness and efficiency of budget formulation and fiscal management by Chungnam Province and the Chungnam Provincial Office of Education, and focused on analyzing the appropriateness of budget execution, presenting suggestions for improvement.
Major projects analyzed individually included support for educational expenses for children from low-income families, the Just Transition Fund, the Climate Belt Urban Forest Creation Project, the Chungnam On Academic Achievement (Basic Academic Skills) Guarantee, and the Chungnam-style IB School initiative.
Chairperson Hong Sunghyun stated, "This analysis report will serve as a cornerstone for strengthening the council's review of budgets and settlements, which is a key responsibility in its role as an overseer and check on provincial and educational administration."
Meanwhile, the "2024 Fiscal Year Financial Settlement Analysis Report of Chungnam Province and Chungnam Provincial Office of Education," published by the Chungnam Provincial Council, is available on the council's website under the 'Budget and Fiscal Data Bulletin Board.'
