Registration Open Until June 18; Submission Deadline: September 10
Total Investment of 566.3 Billion KRW; 1,030 Units of 59m² and 84m² to be Built
Gwangju Urban Corporation (President Kim Seungnam) announced on June 9 that it will hold a design competition for the "Cheomdan 3 District A4 Block Selective Public Rental Housing REITs Project" to promote the early activation of the Cheomdan 3 District R&D Special Zone and to improve residential conditions.
This project will involve a total investment of 566.3 billion KRW, including 3.9 billion KRW for design costs. A total of 1,030 units of selective public housing will be constructed (194 units with an exclusive area of 59 square meters, and 836 units with 84 square meters). These units will be supplied as rental housing for six years, after which they can be converted to ownership.
The theme of the design competition is "Harmonious Residential Space." The corporation has set the basic direction for the design as creating customized spaces that consider the diverse lifestyles of residents, and establishing a safe and vibrant complex that harmonizes with the surrounding environment, such as adjacent school sites.
Companies wishing to participate in the competition can register through "Nara Marketplace (the national electronic procurement system)" or "Seumteo (public architecture design competition)" by June 18. The deadline for submission of proposals is September 10, and the judging committee will be held on September 25.
President Kim Seungnam stated, "We will make every effort not only to ensure housing stability for low-income people without homes, but also to promote the early activation of Cheomdan 3 District," adding, "We hope that many creative and outstanding design proposals will be submitted through the active participation of capable architects in this design competition."
