Global resource circulation company DS Dansuk announced on June 9 that it has signed a large-scale investment agreement (MOU) worth 1.09 trillion KRW with North Jeolla Special Self-Governing Province for the construction of a Net-Zero Complex.
The new plant to be established in Gunsan will serve as a core part of DS Dansuk's future strategy and will be developed as an eco-friendly industrial base integrating production facilities, energy recovery systems, and recycling infrastructure, all aimed at achieving carbon neutrality. The Net-Zero Complex refers to a multi-purpose facility equipped with various eco-friendly production facilities, energy recovery systems, and recycling infrastructure, with the goal of carbon neutrality.
The signing ceremony held at the North Jeolla Provincial Government building was attended by Han Seungwook, Chairman of DS Dansuk, Kim Jongwan, CEO, Kim Kwanyoung, Governor of North Jeolla Special Self-Governing Province, Kang Imjun, Mayor of Gunsan, and Moon Muncheol, Head of the North Jeolla Branch of Korea Industrial Complex Corporation.
Under the agreement, DS Dansuk will sequentially establish production facilities for hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO)-based biodiesel, bio-aviation fuel, and bio-naphtha on a 70,000-pyeong site within the Gunsan National Industrial Complex by 2031.
Han Seungwook, Chairman of DS Dansuk, stated, "We are pleased to be able to cooperate with North Jeolla Province in making this decision for the future of DS Dansuk," and added, "We will continue to maintain a close relationship so that various forms of cooperation between the two organizations can be discussed in the future."
