Yeongju City will host the "Laughter and Emotion Talk Concert with Conductor Kim Hyuncheol" at 7:00 p.m. on June 13 at the Kkachi Hall of the Yeongju Culture and Arts Center.
This performance is a classical music-based talk concert designed for all generations to relate to and enjoy together. The event will feature the witty storytelling of Kim Hyuncheol, who transitioned from comedian to conductor, combined with the enchanting classical performances of an eight-member ensemble, promising a stage filled with both laughter and emotion.
Yeongju City aims to provide citizens with new opportunities to enjoy culture through this concert. Admission is free on a first-come, first-served basis, and any citizen can attend without a separate application.
"Hyeonmae's (Modern Maestro's) Laughter and Emotion Orchestra" is a professional ensemble founded in 2014. The group has consistently engaged audiences with accessible and entertaining performances that lower the barriers to classical music. Conductor Kim Hyuncheol has been active in broadcasting and efforts to popularize classical music, and recently gained attention for publishing his first classical book, "Kim Hyuncheol's Refined Classical Restaurant."
Kim Hojung, Director of Yeongju City's Seonbi Talent Development Division, stated, "This will be a family-friendly performance that breaks the stereotype that classical music is difficult and boring," adding, "We will continue to organize various high-quality cultural and artistic performances so that citizens can experience a wide range of culture and the arts."
Yeongju City will also hold the "June Yeongju Character Academy" at 2:00 p.m. on June 19 at the Yeongju Citizens' Hall, inviting psychological counselor Professor Park Sangmi. Under the theme "How to Become a Strong-Minded Me," the event will share practical know-how for enhancing self-efficacy and living a happy life with citizens.
