Sejong City Urges Families With Multiple Children to Apply for Admission Support Grant

Admission Support Grant of 200,000 Won for Third or Later Children
Enrolled in First Grade of Elementary School Available Until End of This Month

The admission support grant system, which was first introduced by Sejong City last year, has received a highly positive response from citizens. This program was implemented to ease the educational expenses of families with multiple children and to foster a birth-friendly social atmosphere.

According to Sejong City on June 9, applications for the admission support grant, which is provided to families with three or more children, will be accepted until June 30. This year, applications have been accepted since March 4, the start date of elementary school enrollment. Eligible applicants are elementary school students who, as of March 4, have their resident registration in Sejong City and are the third child or later in birth order. Each eligible student receives an admission support grant of 200,000 won, provided in the form of the local currency Yeominjeon.

The student's parent or legal guardian who is de facto responsible for care and upbringing can apply through the Bokji Geum 24 website or by visiting a local administrative welfare center. As of May 28, 375 out of 399 eligible applicants had already received the grant. The city plans to provide guidance through schools and other channels to ensure that families who have not yet applied do not miss out on the benefit.

Lee Sangho, Director of the Autonomous Administration Bureau, stated, "We plan to actively provide information so that all families eligible for the admission support grant do not miss out on this benefit," and added, "We will continue to do our best to reduce the educational expenses of families with multiple children, even if only a little."
