Volkswagen Korea announced on the 9th that it will officially launch the best-selling hatchback, the new Golf GTI.
First produced in 1976, the Golf GTI has sold more than 2.3 million units worldwide. As the pioneer of the "hot hatch" segment, which combines a compact body with powerful driving performance, it remains one of the most popular hot hatch models globally to this day.

The new Golf GTI is a facelifted eighth-generation model, featuring the next-generation MIB4 infotainment system and enhanced convenience features that deliver both everyday comfort and exhilarating performance. Last year, 540 units of the Golf GTI were sold in the Korean market, marking the second highest sales record for Volkswagen Korea since its establishment.

The new Golf GTI features new IQ.Light LED matrix headlamps at the front, the iconic honeycomb grille air intake, and a redesigned bumper. The lower part of the front bumper is equipped with GTI-exclusive LED front fog lamps, maximizing its sporty appeal. For the first time in Golf GTI history, an illuminated front logo is applied. The lighting in the shape of the Volkswagen emblem adds a modern touch.
On the side, a new GTI side logo badge is attached to the front doors, and newly designed 19-inch "Queenstown" wheels enhance the Golf GTI's heritage and performance feel. At the rear, IQ.Light 3D LED rear combination lamps add a modern light graphic. Drivers can choose from three animated welcome & goodbye light effects according to their preferences.

In addition, the new Golf GTI comes standard with Vienna leather premium sports seats. The seats, finished in Soul Black-Tornado Red two-tone color, offer heated and ventilated functions in the front row, heated function in the rear row, as well as power adjustment with memory and electric lumbar support for the driver's seat, providing the optimal driving position.
The 10.25-inch "Digital Cockpit Pro" and "windshield-type head-up display" are standard, and a dedicated multifunction sports steering wheel with GTI lettering and red stitching is included. Notably, the new steering wheel features physical buttons, allowing intuitive operation even when focusing on driving.
At the center of the interior is the 12.9-inch next-generation MIB4 infotainment system. The interface, divided into three sections, allows users to customize and arrange frequently used menus for improved ease of operation.

Furthermore, the driving assistance system "IQ.Drive" comes standard. "Travel Assist" assists with acceleration, braking, and steering during long-distance driving to reduce fatigue. "Adaptive Cruise Control" maintains distance from the vehicle ahead, and "Front Assist" helps prevent or minimize collisions by applying emergency braking when vehicles or obstacles appear in front. These functions operate in a wide range from a standstill up to 210 km/h.
The "Harman Kardon® sound system" delivers an even richer sound experience, providing an attractive audio experience at all times while driving with its 8+1 speakers and 480W output.
The "Park Assist Plus" parking assistance function enables parallel and perpendicular parking with automated steering and pedal operation, without driver intervention, and also supports exiting parking spaces after parallel parking.
The new Golf GTI is equipped with the EA888evo4 2.0L inline 4-cylinder gasoline turbo TSI engine, delivering a maximum output of 245 PS and a peak torque of 37.7 kg.m for outstanding performance. Notably, it provides maximum torque in the low rev range of 1,750 to 4,300 rpm, boasting powerful acceleration. The 2.0 TSI engine is paired with Volkswagen's renowned 7-speed DSG transmission, minimizing power loss and maximizing driving enjoyment with a highly direct feel. Fuel efficiency is also impressive, achieving an officially certified combined fuel economy of 10.8 km/L (9.3 km/L in the city / 13.4 km/L on the highway), ensuring economic efficiency for daily driving.
The official retail price of the new Volkswagen Golf GTI in Korea is 51.75 million won (including VAT, with a 3.5% individual consumption tax applied). Purchasers receive a "Volkswagen certified black box" and a "welcome kit." Additionally, a "5-year/150,000 km free extended warranty program" is provided, as well as the "Accident Repair Total Care Service," which covers up to five deductible payments for accident repairs at official service centers (valid for the first year, with no mileage limit, and up to 500,000 won per accident).
