Gwanghwamun Slogan Board Refreshed for Summer
Conveying the Vibrant Atmosphere of the Dynamic Season of Summer
Kyobo Life Insurance announced on June 9 that it has selected the summer edition of the Gwanghwamun Slogan Board.
This summer's slogan, "Summer is the season of verbs: stretching, growing, flowing, spreading, rising," is taken from the poem "I Like Summer" by poet Lee Jaemu.
Poet Lee Jaemu began his literary career in 1983 through "Literature of Life." He has played a central role in the Korean literary world, publishing poetry collections such as "The Last Day of the Twelfth Month," "The Person Who Said They Would Come Didn't Come," and "Sorrow Cries on the Shoulder."
He received the Lee Yuksa Poetry Literature Award for his collection "Dying in Death Valley," and the Sowol Poetry Award for 23 poems including "Meal on the Road." Last year, he was awarded the Jeong Ji-yong Literature Prize for his poem "March."
This year's slogan interprets summer not as a hot and exhausting season, but as a time of dynamic change and growth. It delivers a message encouraging everyone to continuously unfold their limitless potential and positive energy.
The design of the slogan depicts a scene of strong sunlight pouring through the thick trees of early summer. It aims to convey the vibrant atmosphere of summer as a dynamic season through the scenery of all things growing.
A Kyobo Life Insurance representative said, "We selected this message to convey the value of possibility and positivity within us," adding, "We hope it will serve as an opportunity to encourage and support the precious people around us, just like trees growing together."
Since 1991, the Gwanghwamun Slogan Board has delivered messages of hope and love for over 30 years. This summer edition will be displayed at the Kyobo Life Building in Gwanghwamun, the Kyobo Tower in Gangnam, and other locations until the end of August, and can also be seen on the Gwanghwamun Slogan Board website.
