47 City and Village Bus Companies in Gyeonggi Province to Participate
Aiming to Address Bus Driver Shortages and Create New Jobs
Gyeonggi Province announced on June 9 that it will hold a Bus Transportation Worker Recruitment Fair on June 18 at the Second Exhibition Hall of the Goyang Flower Exhibition Center. The fair, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., is hosted by Gyeonggi Province and organized by the Hwaseong Transportation Safety Experience Education Center of the Korea Transportation Safety Authority. Forty-seven major bus transportation companies in the province will participate to recruit new transportation workers.
At the recruitment fair, job seekers can submit their resumes and self-introduction letters on-site and participate in interviews. They will also be able to obtain information about the recruitment process and the training programs available.
Job seekers without prior bus driving experience can gain employment after obtaining a Class 1 large vehicle license and a bus driver qualification certificate, and then completing a training program. Upon completion of the training, they will be eligible to receive livelihood support funds provided by Gyeonggi Province.
A Gyeonggi Province official stated, "This recruitment fair is an important opportunity to secure bus transportation workers, who are essential to the operation of public transportation in Gyeonggi Province," and added, "Gyeonggi Province will continue to enhance the stability of public transportation services and the convenience of citizens through systematic workforce development support."
For more details about the fair, inquiries can be made to the Gyeonggi Province Bus Management Division or the Korea Transportation Safety Authority.
Job seekers who are unable to attend the fair can find recruitment information on the job boards of the Gyeonggi Province Bus Transportation Business Association and the Gyeonggi Province Village Bus Transportation Business Association websites.
