Identity of Presidential Office "Resignation Vlog" Employee Revealed... Was Kim Gunhee's Exclusive Photographer

"YouTube Video: 'I Really Hate This Company... I'm Completely Fed Up'"

Media reports have revealed that a former presidential office employee, who previously posted a so-called "resignation vlog," was the exclusive photographer for First Lady Kim Gunhee.

According to CBS NoCut News on June 8, the former Grade 9 administrative staff member of the presidential office, referred to as Mr. A, who uploaded internal videos from the presidential office, served as the exclusive photographer for Kim Gunhee. He is known to have taken photos of Kim's inspection of Mapo Bridge and of a child with heart disease in Cambodia, among others.

Filming inside the presidential office is prohibited without permission under the Act on the Protection of Military Bases and Installations. However, recent videos uploaded by Mr. A, with titles such as "D-Day Until the Company Disappears," included unblurred images of the faces of presidential office staff and the premises. As the controversy grew, Mr. A set his YouTube channel to private.

Mr. A, who majored in photography, reportedly joined Yoon Sukyeol's presidential campaign around his university graduation and, after Yoon became president, worked as a Grade 9 administrative staff member in the presidential office. His main responsibility was photographing the First Lady.

He was also responsible for taking photos that became controversial, such as those documenting a visit to underprivileged medical communities in Cambodia?which drew criticism as "poverty porn"?and photos from the Suncheonman International Garden Expo, which were criticized for excessive staging and accused of being "personal photo shoots."

A former presidential office official told NoCut News, "When Mr. A, then a senior in college, suddenly joined the presidential office as his first job, his influence was considerable. Because he was a woman, he was assigned as Kim Gunhee's exclusive photographer, and perhaps thinking he was part of the powerful First Lady's circle, he often bypassed the usual chain of command and caused many issues."

The former official also claimed that there was significant internal opposition to releasing the controversial photos, but they were ultimately made public. "When we tried to prevent their release, Mr. A informed a senior official in the secretariat and used Kim Gunhee's authority to suppress dissenters, which eventually led to the photos being released externally," the official said.

Previously, on June 4, Mr. A uploaded a video titled "D-day Until the Company Disappears. Last Day Commuting, Moving, and After That" to his YouTube channel. The video showed him returning his presidential office access badge, going back to his home in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and unpacking after moving.

Since April, when the Constitutional Court decided to remove former President Yoon from office, Mr. A has been posting "resignation vlogs." On April 24, he expressed his frustration, saying, "There are 40 days left until I leave because the company is disappearing. It seems like they're promoting people before the company disappears, but as expected, I'm not one of them. I really hate this doomed company?I'm completely fed up with it."
