According to the Ulsan Fire Headquarters, 28 fire engines and approximately 70 firefighters are currently being mobilized to bring the blaze under control. There have been no casualties reported as a result of the fire.
The fire authorities believe, based on eyewitness accounts, that the fire started in the fuel storage area inside the plant.
An official from the Ulsan Fire Headquarters stated, "There are about 700 tons of waste fuel in the storage area, so it is expected to take a considerable amount of time to fully extinguish the fire."
