Youngjin College (President Choi Jaeyoung) held the awards ceremony for the "2nd Lifelong Learning Class (Adult Learners) Essay Contest" on June 7 in the college library's audiovisual room, providing a meaningful opportunity for adult learners to share their honest stories and experiences from campus life.
This contest, under the theme "My Story, Our Resonance," invited adult learners to express in writing the moving and challenging journeys they experienced during college life. A total of 80 adult learners participated, forming 25 teams of 3 to 5 members each. Each team chose one of several subtopics?such as My First Page on Campus, Turning Point in My Life, It's Okay to Fail, and Laughter and Tears on Campus?to submit their essays.

The grand prize was awarded to the team "Challenge Launched from Gumi," consisting of Lee Soonsik (54), Ko Jaekyung (51), and Park Heesook (49), all first-year students in the Department of Social Welfare.
In their essay, the team candidly described the excitement, hardships, and growth experienced by three women who had long cherished the desire to learn before enrolling in the Department of Social Welfare at Youngjin College. Despite the burden of commuting to Daegu, and the exhausting days spent juggling housework, jobs, and childcare, they encouraged and supported each other, ultimately finding joy in their college lives.
Team representative Lee Soonsik (54) said, "I thought it would be too much to start something at my age, but now I can honestly say that learning is exciting and makes me happy," adding, "Our challenge will continue."
The first prizes went to the team "More Than Flowers, Female College Students" (Department of Health and Medical Administration, second year: Seo Kangmyung, Kwon Junghui, Ahn Soonhee) and the team "Samullim" (Department of Social Welfare, second year: Do Seunghee, Jeong Haesook, Park Gwiryuh).
The excellence awards were given to the team "Second Twenties" (Department of Business Accounting Convergence, first year: Kim Boksook, Park Sangkyung, Park Sujin), the team "Wolcheon (月千)" (Department of Computer Information, second year: Yoon Deokhwan, Park Jaehyun, Yoon Yongho, Kim Daewon), and the team "Beautiful Life" (Department of Medical K-Beauty, first year: Choi Insook, Jin Eunsook, Kim Hyunjin).
A Youngjin College representative stated, "The stories of adult learners are a true model of education, reminding us of the precious value of lifelong learning," and added, "We will continue to provide various support and opportunities so that learners can challenge themselves with confidence."
