In June, Busan Hosts Discount Festival... "Busan Sale Festa" Unites Small Businesses Across the City

Onnuri Gift Certificate Refunds and Promotions at 82 Traditional Markets
Boosting Consumption at Traditional Markets and Revitalizing the Local Economy

The city of Busan will hold the large-scale consumption promotion event, "Busan Sale Festa," throughout June, bringing together local small business owners, traditional markets, and online malls.

This event has been organized based on the supplementary budget to stimulate local consumption and revitalize the livelihoods of citizens and the local economy.

The event will feature a variety of programs, including online mall discounts, neighborhood business district festivals, Onnuri gift certificate refund events at traditional markets, and sales promotion events. Three online distribution channels (Naver, Gmarket, and 11st) and the local product mall "Dongbaek Mall" will each open a "Busan Exclusive Hall" for products from Busan small businesses, hosting large-scale promotional sales.

The exclusive halls will operate until the end of the year, featuring local products such as food, household goods, and fashion accessories. The first round of discount promotions will run from June 9 to July 8, with the second and third rounds scheduled for August and during the Chuseok holiday period. Consumers can search for "Busan Sale Festa" on the distribution channels to purchase event products, while small business owners wishing to participate can apply through the Busan Economic Promotion Agency's Sodam Square website.

Events that allow citizens to participate directly will also take place in neighborhood business districts and university commercial areas. From June 13 to 15, the "Subi BEXCO Win-Win Market with Busan Food Film Festa" will be held. This event, linked with the "2025 Busan Food Film Festa," will feature collaborative product sales, neighborhood cinemas, and SNS certification events. Stores affiliated with the Subi BEXCO Merchants Association will participate, offering limited sales of signature products and food and beverage packages.

From June 20 to 22, the "Busan National University Commercial District Reboot Project - Forward to Budae!" will be held in the Busan National University Autonomous Commercial District. This retro-themed event will center around the "Return to Clock Tower Square," featuring an outdoor beer plaza and the "Burak" concert, which will combine band and dance performances. Consumers in the district will also receive "win-win coupons" offering up to 30% discounts to encourage spending.

In traditional markets, from June 12 to 14, Onnuri gift certificate refund events will be held at 82 markets, including Busanjin Market, Dongnae Market, and Gukje Market. Customers who spend more than 30,000 won at participating stores can present their receipts on the same day to receive gift certificates worth either 5,000 or 10,000 won. Each person can receive up to 10,000 won per day and up to 30,000 won during the event period.

From June 26 to 28, sales promotion events highlighting the unique characteristics of traditional markets will take place at Suyeong Paldo Market and "Bokieinneun Deokpo Market." Suyeong Paldo Market will be transformed into an experiential space combining gastronomy and culture, while Deokpo Market will be presented as a global festival with multicultural content. Both markets aim to provide citizens with new enjoyment through unique local content and a variety of on-site programs.

Park Hyungjoon, Mayor of Busan, said, "We have prepared a consumption festival that citizens can enjoy together while also supporting the local economy," adding, "I hope that Busan Sale Festa will become an opportunity to bring new vitality to traditional markets and local business districts."
