Appearance of the "Iron Lunchbox Chef" from "Black and White Chef" Draws Attention
Namwon Chunhyang Festival Video... Continuation of Previous Contract
A month after Baek Jongwon, CEO of Theborn Korea, announced the suspension of his broadcasting activities, a new long-form video was uploaded to his official YouTube channel. However, instead of Baek Jongwon himself, the video featured Chef Taehoon Lim, known as the "Iron Lunchbox Chef," who gained recognition through the Netflix variety show "Black and White Chef: Culinary Class War."

On the 5th, a video titled "Namwon's Population Multiplied by 20! Direct Delivery of Loach Fries by the Iron Lunchbox Chef" was uploaded to the "Baek Jongwon" YouTube channel. The video featured broadcaster Cho Choonghyun and Chef Taehoon Lim, who appeared on Netflix's "Black and White Chef." Visiting Namwon, the stage of the Chunhyang Festival, they enjoyed meals prepared at booths set up at the festival site. This Chunhyang Festival video, uploaded on the same day, is the first long-form video released in about a month since the apology video posted on the 6th of last month. Since the end of last month, short videos featuring stories from franchise owners have been uploaded. The YouTube production team stated, "This video was planned to convey the honest voices of the franchise owners who are working together with Theborn Korea."
Citizens attending the festival enjoyed the food, commenting, "The prices are reasonable and the food is good." One franchise owner said, "We conduct strict hygiene inspections. I think it makes us pay more attention to hygiene, which is great." The video also captured Chef Lim developing menu items that highlight the local characteristics of Namwon using regional specialties.

However, Baek Jongwon himself did not appear in the video. Recently, as various controversies surrounding him continued, Baek Jongwon announced that he would suspend all broadcasting activities and focus on management. He emphasized, "From now on, as 'Baek Jongwon the entrepreneur,' not the broadcaster, I will devote all my passion and energy entirely to the growth of Theborn Korea and the development of our franchise owners."
Meanwhile, Theborn Korea, led by Baek Jongwon, has been at the center of controversy since the beginning of this year, including violations of the Country of Origin Labeling Act, the Farmland Act, and insufficient ingredient content. Baek Jongwon has repeatedly apologized through his YouTube channel and at shareholder meetings. However, as the situation failed to subside, Theborn Korea recently announced a 30 billion won mutual growth support plan, under which the company will fully cover all discount, marketing, and promotional expenses. In addition, Baek Jongwon plans to contribute 100% of his personal funds to launch a mutual growth committee in cooperation with franchise owners.
