"Village-cation Maze Journey" Draws Attention

Kumdang Siljeong Bohwa Village in Yecheon County, Gyeongbuk, was ultimately selected in the "2025 Gyeongbuk Northern Region Travel Product Development Contest" hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Institute of Spiritual Culture.

This contest targeted 11 cities and counties in northern Gyeongbuk, aiming to develop travel products that reflect the unique characteristics of each region and to promote local tourism. Out of a total of 25 applicant organizations, 15 were selected.


Kumdangsil Village received high marks for its proposal, "Village-cation Maze Journey: Sentimental Hanok Healing Camp Along the Stone Wall Road." This travel product consists of a variety of experiential programs, including exploring the alleys of a traditional hanok village, traditional culture missions, hanok accommodation, and traditional food experiences.


An Joonsik, head of the Kumdangsil Information Village Committee, stated, "Kumdangsil Village is a place where the tradition and atmosphere of Yecheon are alive," and added, "With this selection, we will contribute to the revitalization of the village and the development of local tourism."


This travel product will be operated twice, in September and October of this year, utilizing the support funds.
