On June 6, it was announced that the Dalseong Toseong Village Cooperative (Chairman Kim Gihan) in Bisan 2·3-dong, Seo-gu, Daegu, has been selected for the "2025 Daegu Village Enterprise Basic Package Support Project," hosted by Daegu City and organized by Community and Economy.
This support project aims to lay the foundation for growth and support the initial stabilization of village enterprises by strengthening their economic and organizational sustainability capabilities. Accordingly, Dalseong Toseong Village Cooperative will receive up to 10 million KRW in business capacity enhancement and business development funds over eight months, from April to November.
Dalseong Toseong Village Cooperative plans to use this funding to expand its existing village restaurant business, develop new menu items using local specialties, and actively promote community revitalization projects such as creating jobs for local residents.
Composed of about 30 residents from Bisan 2·3-dong in Daegu, Dalseong Toseong Village Cooperative is actively operating a variety of resident-led initiatives, including an attic cafe, Dalseong Toseong Alley Garden village docent program, a community kitchen program, succulent art experiences, a village gallery, and the Dalseong Toseong Village Broadcasting Station.
In particular, the Dalseong Toseong Alley Garden, a beautiful village garden maintained directly by residents, has gained nationwide recognition as a popular destination through word-of-mouth on social media. Dalseong Toseong Village Cooperative plans to further strengthen its capabilities as a village enterprise by leveraging this support project.
Ryu Han-guk, Mayor of Seo-gu, Daegu, stated, "Dalseong Toseong Village Cooperative is a model case of resident-led transformation in the community," adding, "We will continue to provide administrative support so that village enterprises can become a central pillar of local economic revitalization."
