Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dongyeon is scheduled to visit the site of the drilling machine tipping accident at the Indeokwon~Dongtan double-track railway construction project in Seocheon-dong, Yongin, around 11:30 AM on June 6.
According to the police and fire authorities, at approximately 10:13 PM on the previous night, a drilling machine at the Indeokwon~Dongtan double-track railway construction site in Seocheon-dong, Giheung-gu, Yongin City, tipped over toward a 15-story apartment building. Currently, the toppled drilling machine is leaning against the building wall from around the 8th to the 15th floor.

Immediately after the accident, the apartment management office broadcast an evacuation alert, and residents evacuated the building according to the instructions. Currently, about 80 residents have evacuated, and Yongin City is providing nearby welfare centers and other facilities as evacuation sites.
The police, based on eyewitness statements, believe that the stationary drilling machine gradually fell toward the apartment building. The fire authorities have deployed 15 pieces of equipment and 38 personnel to set up a safety perimeter and carry out recovery operations. Once the situation is under control, the police and fire authorities plan to begin a thorough investigation into the exact cause of the accident.
