Joint Campaign for the Removal of Old Signboards and the Eradication of Illegal Advertisements
On the afternoon of June 5, Dongdaemun District in Seoul conducted a "joint public-private outdoor advertising disaster prevention drill and illegal advertising eradication campaign" in front of Exit 4 of Dapsimni Station.

This event was organized to enhance the safety of outdoor advertisements in preparation for natural disasters such as summer storms and typhoons, and was hosted by the Dongdaemun Branch of the Seoul Outdoor Advertising Association. Approximately 30 people attended the event, including Pilhyung Lee, Mayor of Dongdaemun District, Taein Lee, Chairman of the Dongdaemun District Council, officials from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Seoul Metropolitan Government, and representatives from the Outdoor Advertising Association.
At the site, the launch ceremony for the Outdoor Advertising Disaster Prevention Team was held, along with a demonstration of dismantling old signboards and a joint public-private campaign to eradicate illegal advertisements. A high-altitude training session was also conducted using a high-altitude work platform vehicle to inspect the fastening and corrosion of a signboard at the height of the ninth floor.
Pilhyung Lee, Mayor of Dongdaemun District, stated, "Through this drill, we hope to prevent accidents caused by old outdoor advertisements in advance and create an opportunity for the public and private sectors to work together to build a safer urban environment."
